Prize for Corporate Governance in DR Congo

The Fund for Corporate Governance in the DR Congo, managed by the King Baudouin Foundation and since 2014 funded also by BIO, awards a biannual Prize for Corporate Governance to an entrepreneur in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The prize is aimed at promoting SME entrepreneurship and corporate governance in the DRC. This year’s Prize was awarded in Kinshasa in June 2014 to Philémon Kivuvu Musul, CEO of Calmaco Sprl (see pictures).

In Brussels, the winner will join several important stakeholders of SME development in developing countries to discuss challenges and opportunities SMEs face today.

The Prize for Corporate Governance in DR Congo aims to:

  • give a positive image of the company in the DRC which is participating in the economic development of the country for the benefit of the Congolese population
  • make good business practices known in order to inspire the private sector in general
  • promote a Congolese entrepreneur at home and abroad
